Saudi Arabia is taking steps to cool the overheating global energy market, boosting its exports to the US and re-opening old oilfields to expand production.

(Financial Times) -- Saudi Arabia is taking steps to cool the overheating global energy market, boosting its exports to the US and re-opening old oilfields to expand production, as the world's largest oil producer tries to prevent damage to the global economic recovery.

The Saudi cabinet on Monday said the kingdom would work "individually" and with others for the "return [of] oil prices to fair levels". Riyadh recently said it aimed to keep oil prices at $100.

সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্র জানায়, অর্থ সংকটসহ ভূগর্ভস্থ বিদ্যুৎ, টেলিফোন, ওয়াসা, তিতাস গ্যাস লাইনসহ অন্য ইউটিলিটি সার্ভিসগুলোর লাইন স্থানান্তরে জটিলতা তৈরি হওয়ায় শেষ পর্যন্ত বহু প্রত্যাশিত এ ফ্লাইওভারের নির্মাণকাজ বন্ধ রাখতে হয়েছে। এছাড়া গুলিস্তান-যাত্রাবাড়ী, টিকাটুলি, গোলাপবাগ এলাকাসহ আশপাশের সড়কগুলোও খানাখন্দে ভরা। ভাঙাচোরা রাস্তার ধুলাবালিতে একাকার হয়ে যান এসব পথে চলাচলকারী যাত্রীরা।

Bangladesh refused to dwell on the past when they take on Sri Lanka in a do-or-die match of the Asia Cup today where a simple win will give them a ticket to the final. 
Bangladesh were in a similar situation in the tri-nation tournament in 2009 when they lost to Zimbabwe in the opening match and needed a superhuman effort against Sri Lanka to make it to the final.
The Tigers had restricted Sri Lanka to 147 in the 31-over match and needed to win the game with a bonus point to take their run-rate above Zimbabwe’s and set up a final against the islanders.
Sakib al Hasan did exactly what Bangladesh needed, scoring 92 off 69 balls and completing a five-wicket victory to take the Tigers to the final. Bangladesh could have easily won the tournament if they could maintain the same intensity after reducing Sri Lanka to five for six at the start of the game.

In a national referendum, 66.5% opposed the chance to put Switzerland in line with its neighbor Germany, where employees enjoy six-week paid vacation every year. The Swiss apparently considered previous warnings of the government and business representatives who claimed that an additional fortnight of paid holidays increase labor costs and put their economy at risk.
